About D&J

D&J Excavating Company, Inc. is a second-generation business serving the greater Windham community for over 60 years. The business was started by Donald Vance and his wife Joanne in 1956.

Donald's father, John Vance, ran a successful business during the Depression and Donald learned the trade as he grew up in the construction business.

Donald and Joanne operated D&J while raising their family for more than 40 years. The business was eventually sold to their son David.

David is a State of Maine Licensed Journeyman Electrician. He is also DEP and Shoreland certified.

Today David and his wife Judy operate the business. A successful small business, D&J performs commercial snow removal, septic systems, landscaping, small jobs, grading, light demolition and also screened loam and reclaim materials available.
